Basically, we have a series of mats with antenna loops on the underside to read timing chips as they pass over. These are at the race start and finish.
Runners will either be wearing a timing chip on their shoe or a race number with an RFID loop attached. Our job is to ensure we collect all runner times once they step onto the mats!

The single-use chip features a copper loop attached to the race number, which runners fasten to their chest. After the race, they can either keep or dispose of it.
The reusable chip is a cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative. Made of durable plastic, it attaches to the runner’s shoe and is collected after the race.
